The Shpilman Institute for Photography was founded in 2010 as a nonprofit organization and established itself at the center of Tel Aviv’s art scene until closing its doors in 2015.

As its first exhibition, the Shpilman Institute turned the spotlight on the Neues Sehen (New Vision) movement, a unique phenomenon in the history of photography and modernist avant-garde in general emerging simultaneously in various culture centers across Europe and later also in the United States.
